01How to use itHow to hang this deep floating shelf
This deep floating shelf in paulownia wood measures 42 × 16 × 2 cm, deeper and thicker than most. Its iron bracket screws into the wall and disappears inside the shelf for a clean line.
The extra depth makes room for larger plants, a row of books or bathroom essentials. How much it can hold depends on your wall: screw into solid brick or timber studs for heavier items, and use cavity fixings on plasterboard for lighter ones.

Lovely, plugs not great for my wall
Lovely shelf. The plugs that came with it did not suit my old plaster wall so I bought different ones at the hardware shop. After that no problem at all.

Fiddly to get level
The shelf looks good but I struggled a lot to get it perfectly level, the bracket has to sit exactly right or the shelf leans slightly forward. After a second attempt it is fine. Also one corner had a small dent from transport, the wood is quite soft.White -

Cookbooks finally off the counter
My cookbooks were always on the kitchen counter getting dirty. Now they stand on this shelf above it, with a little basil pot at the end like a bookend. Deep enough even for the big ones, and the black looks very nice with our wooden worktop. My husband says now the kitchen looks like a magazine.

Three in the living room
We installed three of them in a staggered line beside the TV, with books, a small lamp and two candles. The thickness gives them presence and the hidden bracket makes them look like they come out of the wall. Took about an hour for all three with a level. We hesitated between white and black for a long time, our wall is a light grey-green, and in the end black was the right choice: it draws the eye without being heavy. The shelves arrived in separate packages, well protected, around two weeks after ordering. My only tip: mark all the holes before drilling anything, the line looks much better when the spacing is regular.Black -

The shelf is correct and it holds my plants. But it took longer to arrive than I expected and the instructions were not clear for me, I needed help from my brother to install. For the price it is ok, but I imagined something more easy. -

Remarkable for the price
Remarkable finish for the price, the edges are clean and the paint even. The concealed bracket gives a very tidy result. I installed it in the study for a row of reference books and a small sculpture, and it has the quiet presence of a much more expensive piece. I was initially doubtful about paulownia, having never heard of it, but its lightness turns out to be an advantage: the shelf is easy to handle during installation and puts little strain on the wall. From an empty corner to my favourite corner
I live in a small rented studio and I hesitated a long time before drilling, but this shelf was worth two holes. I put it in the corner near the window, which was always empty and a bit sad. Now there is a pothos trailing down, two candles, a small framed print leaning at the back and my favourite mug. The 16 cm depth is what convinced me, other floating shelves were too narrow for a real pot. The white is clean, the edges are smooth, and the bracket is completely hidden, so it really looks like the wood comes out of the wall. It came well packed. Installing took me about forty minutes because I am slow with a drill, but the result is perfect.White -

A small story from my hallway
Our hallway is narrow and there was always a pile of keys, letters and sunglasses on the shoe cabinet. I wanted a shelf that is deep enough for a small tray and a plant but does not look like storage. This one is exactly that. I chose light brown because our front door is oak, and it matches really well. Installation: two screws, the bracket, then you slide the shelf on. My husband did it in twenty minutes, with a lot of checking with the level. Now there is a small bowl for keys, a trailing plant and a photo. Perfect for the bathroom

Above the changing table

Bedside without a table
No room for a bedside table so I put this next to the bed instead. Phone, book, glass of water, small lamp. Works perfectly and frees the floor, which in a small bedroom makes a real difference. I hung it a bit higher than a normal table so I do not knock it with my elbow, and the white blends into the wall so it almost floats.White -
