A tall cylinder of smoked grey glass set in a chunky round of dark wood.
The tinted glass lifts out of its solid wooden base, so it is easy to fill and clean. Long-stemmed roses, tulips or a few branches look softly shadowed through the grey glass, with the warm wood grounding the whole piece.

01How to use it
Which flowers suit this tall tinted glass vase?
This tall cylinder of smoked grey glass is 25 cm high and 10 cm across, set in a chunky round of dark wood. The glass lifts out of the base, so you can fill and clean it easily.
At 25 cm, it suits stems of about 40 to 50 cm. The straight cylinder holds a generous bouquet upright, while the smoked glass softens the view of the stems.

Red roses look moody in it
I love how red roses look through the grey glass, a bit dark and moody. Perfect for the dining table.

Wood a touch lighter than shown
The wood is a bit lighter than on the photos in my opinion, but it still looks good with my furniture. The glass is perfect.

Third vase I tried for this corner
I have a narrow shelf next to the window in the living room and nothing ever looked right there, always too big or too shiny. This one is 10 cm across so it fits on the shelf without hanging over, and the tinted glass doesn't reflect the light like clear glass does. In the afternoon the sun comes through it and you get a soft grey shadow on the wall, which I did not expect at all. I keep three or four branches from the garden in it, at the moment some dried beech leaves. Delivery took a while but it was packed well and arrived in one piece.

Fits the sideboard perfectly
I was looking for something slim for the sideboard next to a lamp. Perfect fit, and the wood matches the lamp base.

One tulip is enough
I often put just one or two tulips in it. Because the glass is tinted it never looks empty.

Bathroom upgrade
I put it in the bathroom on the shelf above the sink with a few stems of eucalyptus. With the steam from the shower the eucalyptus smells amazing and the vase gives the room a hotel feeling. Easy to lift the glass out and clean it.

Remarkably well balanced
The proportions are very well judged: the wooden base grounds the slim glass without ever looking heavy. A quiet, elegant piece.

Darker glass than I hoped
The glass is darker than on the photos, with only a few stems you hardly see the flowers inside. The base is nice. It's ok, but I was hoping for a lighter grey.

Too narrow for my bouquets
The vase is pretty, but at 10 cm across it's too narrow for the big bouquets I usually buy, I had to split them in two. Fine for a few stems only.

Smaller than I pictured
Beautiful vase but I had imagined it bigger. 25 cm is fine for tulips, for my long roses I had to cut the stems quite a lot.

Ideal for a small flat
My apartment is small and I don't have much space on the tables, so this slim vase is ideal. I put it near the entrance with three roses and when you come in it is the first thing you see. The colour of the glass is grey, little bit smoky, very elegant.

Would buy another glass colour
I would buy a second one if there was another colour of glass. This grey one is very nice, my only minus is that the wood shows water drops if you are not careful.

Ordered one, then a second
I first ordered one for the living room. The tinted glass looked so good next to our dark grey sofa that I ordered a second one for the bedroom a few weeks later. In the bedroom it holds a single branch of eucalyptus that I change when it gets too dry, and it smells nice too. In the living room it's flowers, mostly tulips in spring and roses from the garden in summer. Taking the glass out of the wooden base to change the water is really practical, and it sits back in place without any fuss. Both arrived well protected.

Great vase, thin padding
Arrived intact, but there was not much padding in the box so I was a bit lucky. The vase itself is great.

Greyer than on my screen
On my screen the glass looked more brown, in reality it's grey. Still very beautiful, just different from what I expected.

Dark glass, warm wood
The dark glass and the warm wood make a nice contrast. Good choice for a modern living room. I have it on a black metal shelf next to some books and it looks like it was chosen by a decorator, even if it was just me on a Sunday evening.

Makes supermarket flowers look better
What I like is that you don't see the stems too clearly, so even cheap flowers look nicer. I only wish the wood was a bit darker.

My desk at work is less sad now
I brought it to the office to brighten up my desk. One or two stems from the market every Monday, and the grey glass hides the water when it starts to get a bit cloudy, which honestly is a plus. Colleagues keep asking where it's from.

Tiny mark on the base
Very pretty vase. There was a tiny mark on the wooden base, invisible once it's on the shelf, so it doesn't bother me much.

Still my most used vase months later
I've had this vase on the kitchen windowsill since the summer and wanted to give an update. In June it had peonies, then sweet peas, now a few dried grasses because I'm lazy in the autumn. The glass lifts out of the base so changing the water is easy, I just take it to the sink. I always dry the glass before putting it back, and the wood still looks like new. It's 25 cm high, so for peonies I cut the stems short and let the heads rest on the rim, which actually looks nice. Of all the vases I own, this is the one I reach for first.

Retro but not old-fashioned
It has a 70s feel because of the tinted glass, but with the wood it looks modern too. I love it on my bookshelf.

Hazel branches from the garden
I cut some hazel branches in February and put them in it. They look great with the smoky glass, very architectural. A few weeks later the catkins opened and it was like having a little piece of the garden inside, on the hall table.

Birthday present for my mother
Bought it for my mother's birthday, she put it in the hall straight away with some eucalyptus branches. She called me twice to say thank you. She likes that she can lift the glass out to change the water without moving the whole thing.

Pairs well with candles
I put it on the coffee table next to two candles and the grey glass looks really warm in the evening light. During the day it's quite discreet, at night it becomes the centre of the room. My partner was sceptical about another vase, now he's the one buying flowers for it.

Glass moves a little in the base
Nice look, but the glass shifts slightly in the wooden base when I carry it, so I always lift it with two hands. On the shelf you don't notice. I expected a little more for the price.

Tulips look like a painting
I put six yellow tulips in it and the grey glass softens the colour in a really lovely way. The wooden base makes it feel warm, not cold like most glass vases.
