1. Seller
The Sauvelin online shop is operated by Velaurin & Sauge SAS, a simplified joint-stock company (SAS) with a share capital of €1,500, registered with Saint-Étienne Trade and Companies Register: 937 418 265, SIRET 937 418 265 00014, EU VAT number FR 58 937418265, whose registered office is at Cour des Ourdisseurs, 42100 Saint-Étienne, France.
Customer service: contact form, email contact@sauvelin.com, phone +33 1 99 00 37 64.
2. Purpose and scope
These general terms and conditions of sale govern sales of home decor items (vases, candle holders, lanterns, plant pots, wall clocks and wall shelves) made on the Sauvelin website between the seller and any consumer customer, for delivery in the 27 member states of the European Union. They prevail over any other document. The customer declares having read and accepted them before confirming their order. The applicable terms are those in force on the date of the order.
3. Products
The main characteristics of each product (material, finish and, when the supplier provides them, dimensions) are stated on its product page. Product pictures are styled visuals created to show the product as clearly as possible; colours, textures and finishes may vary slightly depending on your screen and from one piece to another, in particular for handmade glass, ceramic and natural materials such as wood, rattan and seagrass. Products are offered while stocks last. If an item becomes unavailable after ordering, the customer is informed and refunded without delay.
4. Prices
Prices are shown in euros, including VAT, excluding shipping costs. Shipping costs are shown before the order is confirmed. The applicable price is the one displayed when the order is placed. The seller may change its prices at any time; orders already confirmed are not affected.
5. Orders
The customer selects items and their options, adds them to the cart, enters their details and delivery address, chooses the shipping method and confirms payment. The order is binding once paid. A confirmation email summarising the order is sent to the customer and serves as acknowledgement of receipt. The seller reserves the right to cancel an order in the event of an existing dispute with the customer, failed payment or suspected fraud.
6. Payment
Payment is due when ordering, online, using the methods offered on the checkout page. Transactions are secured by the payment provider; the seller never has access to full card details. The order is processed only once payment has been accepted.
7. Delivery
| Destination | Standard shipping | Free shipping | Estimated delivery |
|---|---|---|---|
| France | €4.90 | on orders of €70 or more | 10 to 18 days |
| Other European Union countries | €4.90 | on orders of €70 or more | 11 to 21 days |
Items are shipped from our partner suppliers' warehouses, with a tracking number. An order containing several items may arrive in separate parcels. The stated time starts when the order is confirmed. Details are given in our shipping policy.
If delivery has not taken place within 30 days of the order, the customer may, after asking the seller to deliver within a reasonable additional period, terminate the contract in writing and obtain a refund of the sums paid within 14 days (articles L.216-6 and L.216-7 of the French Consumer Code). Risk passes to the customer upon receipt of the parcel. If a parcel is lost, or if a glass or ceramic item arrives broken, the seller sends the item again or refunds the customer, provided a photo is sent within 48 hours of delivery.
8. Right of withdrawal
In accordance with article L.221-18 of the French Consumer Code, the customer has 14 days from receipt of their order to withdraw, without giving any reason. They notify their decision via the contact form, by email to contact@sauvelin.com or using the model form below, stating their order number.
The customer returns the item no later than 14 days after notifying their withdrawal, to the address provided by customer service, in good condition, unused and if possible in its original packaging, carefully protected for fragile items. Return costs are borne by the customer, unless the item received is defective or does not match the order.
The seller refunds all sums paid, including the original shipping costs (up to the standard shipping rate), within 14 days of the withdrawal notification, using the same payment method as for the order. The refund may be withheld until the item has been received or proof of its dispatch has been provided. The customer may be held liable for any loss in value of the item resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish its nature and characteristics (for example a shelf that has been drilled and mounted, or a candle holder that has been used).

9. Legal guarantees
All products benefit, independently of any commercial guarantee, from the legal guarantee of conformity (articles L.217-3 to L.217-20 of the French Consumer Code) and the guarantee against hidden defects (articles 1641 to 1649 of the French Civil Code).
The consumer has two years from delivery of the goods to claim under the legal guarantee of conformity if a lack of conformity appears. During this period, they only need to establish the existence of the lack of conformity, not the date it appeared. The legal guarantee of conformity entitles the consumer to have the goods repaired or replaced free of charge and without major inconvenience, or, if these are impossible or disproportionate, to a price reduction or termination of the contract. The consumer may also withhold payment of all or part of the price until the seller has fulfilled its obligations.
The consumer may also claim under the guarantee against hidden defects within two years of discovering the defect, and choose between cancelling the sale and a price reduction.
To use a guarantee, the customer contacts customer service with a photo of the defect and their order number.
10. Liability and safe use
The seller is not liable for damage resulting from misuse of the products, normal wear or force majeure. Candle holders and lanterns: never leave a burning candle unattended, keep it away from children, pets and anything flammable, and place it on a stable, heat-resistant surface. Wall shelves, clocks and planters: use fixings suited to your wall and respect the load indicated; the seller is not liable for damage caused by unsuitable installation. Vases and plant pots without a drainage hole or not stated as watertight are not designed to hold water. Links to third-party websites do not engage the seller.
11. Intellectual property
The texts, pictures, guides, logos and elements of the website are protected. Any reproduction without prior written permission is prohibited.
12. Personal data
Data collected when ordering is necessary to process and deliver the order. It is processed in accordance with our privacy policy. The customer has the right to access, rectify, erase and object, which they exercise by email to contact@sauvelin.com.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by French law, without depriving the consumer of the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of their country of residence. Failing an amicable settlement, the consumer may use a consumer mediator or the European Online Dispute Resolution platform, or bring the dispute before the competent courts.
