Questions

What are the dimensions?

It is about 25 cm high and 10 cm wide. This tall cylinder suits long-stemmed flowers and branches on a dining table, a console or a sideboard. It also looks good on a wide windowsill, where the light passes through the tinted glass.

Does the glass come out of the base?

Yes, the smoked glass cylinder lifts out of its solid wooden base, which makes it easy to fill, empty and clean at the sink without wetting the wood. Simply lift the glass, refresh the water and set it back in the base.

Can I use it with fresh flowers?

Yes, the glass holds water. Change it every two days and recut the stems at an angle. Keep the wooden base dry by lifting the glass out to refill it, and wipe the outside of the glass before setting it back.

Which flowers suit it?

Long-stemmed roses, tulips, lisianthus, gladioli or a few eucalyptus or olive branches. The grey tint softly shadows the stems, while the wood grounds the piece. White and pale pink flowers look especially elegant against the smoked glass.

How do I clean it?

Wash the glass with warm soapy water and a bottle brush, then dry it. Dust the wooden base with a dry cloth and avoid getting it wet, which can mark or warp the wood. A little white vinegar removes any limescale inside the glass.

Are the flowers included?

No, the vase is sold empty, so you can choose your own long stems. Roses, tulips or a few eucalyptus branches suit its 25 cm height best. It also makes an elegant gift for a housewarming.

  1. 5 out of 5

Red roses look moody in it

Red roses look amazing through the grey glass, a bit dark and moody. Perfect on the dining table.

  2. 4 out of 5

Wood a touch lighter than shown

The wood is a bit lighter than on the photos in my opinion, but it still looks good with my furniture. The glass is perfect.

  3. 5 out of 5

    Just the right size

Exactly the size I needed. Long tulips stand straight and the wood base makes it very stable on the sideboard.

    Dining table star

Gorgeous on the dining table. With three long roses it looks soft and a bit mysterious through the grey glass.

Third vase I tried for this corner

I have a narrow shelf next to the window in the living room and nothing ever looked right there, always too big or too shiny. This one is 10 cm across so it fits on the shelf without hanging over, and the tinted glass doesn't reflect the light like clear glass does. In the afternoon the sun comes through it and you get a soft grey shadow on the wall, which I did not expect at all. I keep three or four branches from the garden in it, at the moment some dried beech leaves. Delivery took a while but it was packed well and arrived in one piece.
