Clear glass bulbs on a vintage wooden stand, for rooting cuttings on a desk or a shelf.
Round glass bulbs sit in a black metal holder on a stand of dark wood. Fill them with water to grow pothos, bamboo or herb cuttings and watch the roots appear, or use them for a few fresh stems.

01How to use it
How to grow cuttings in this propagation vase
Clear glass bulbs, 10 cm high and 7.2 cm wide, sit on a vintage wooden stand. The rounded bulbs hold enough water for cuttings to root, and the clear glass lets you watch them grow.
Place a cutting with at least one node under water, keep the leaves above, and change the water weekly. Once roots are 3 to 5 cm long, the cutting is ready to pot.

Holder a little loose
Very nice vase. The metal holder is a little loose on the wooden base, it moves slightly when I lift the bulbs. Not a big problem but I noticed it.

Basil cuttings from the supermarket pot
I took cuttings from my supermarket basil and they rooted in this. Now I have basil forever, I hope.

A little ritual on the bookcase
I discovered propagation during the first winter in my new flat, when my big monstera dropped a leaf with an aerial root and I didn't want to throw it away. I put it in a glass of water, which looked sad. This vase changed everything: it sits on my bookcase between the novels, the dark wood blends with the shelves, and the clear bulbs catch the afternoon light. You can see the roots growing day after day, my nephew calls it the plant aquarium. I change the water once a week, it's easy because the bulbs come out of the holder. It arrived well protected, nothing broken. Now I have pothos and a tradescantia in it and I give away the rooted cuttings to friends.

Office desk upgrade
Put it on my office desk with two pothos cuttings from a colleague. Everybody who passes by stops to look at the roots, it has become a small conversation piece in the open space.

Housewarming hit
Gave it as a housewarming gift with some cuttings from my own plants already inside. My friend said it was the most personal present she got.

Wood a touch lighter
Very nice. The wood is a touch lighter than in the photos, not as dark as I hoped, but it still looks good.

A remarkably elegant object
A remarkably elegant object for the price. The proportions of the bulbs against the dark wooden base are well considered, and the black metal holder gives it a slightly scientific, vintage character. It sits on my piano with a few ivy cuttings.

Roots, light and a wooden stand
I wanted something to propagate my pothos without having jars everywhere on the windowsill. This is the answer. The wood stand is sturdy, the bulbs are clear and you can watch the roots form, which my partner and I find strangely satisfying. A small thing that makes the kitchen nicer.

Bulbs smaller than I imagined
Very pretty, the dark wood and black metal look great together. The bulbs are smaller than I imagined, so only thin cuttings go in.

A project with my grandfather
My grandfather was a gardener all his life and now he lives in a small apartment without a garden. I brought him this vase and we took cuttings together from the plants on his balcony: mint, pothos and one from his old geranium. He puts it on the table next to his chair and every time I visit he shows me how the roots have grown and explains things about plants I never knew. It is a small object, but it gave him a little project again. The glass is clear and the dark wooden base looks good on his old table. Delivery was a bit slow but no problem.

Plant swaps with my neighbour
My neighbour and I swap cuttings all the time and I never had a nice place to root them. Now they go in here on the kitchen windowsill, and when the roots are long enough they go in a pot and the next cutting takes the place. The wooden stand looks warm and the glass is clear, you see everything.

Openings are narrow
Looks nice, but the openings are narrow and thicker stems don't really fit. For fine cuttings it works. I expected a bit more space.
