Classic Candlestick

This vintage-style candle holder in iron and glass measures about 23 × 9 × 7 cm. The glass shelters a small candle from draughts, while the flat base keeps it steady on a table, a shelf or a windowsill.

Choose a short pillar candle or a tealight that sits comfortably inside the glass, leaving a little space around the flame so the glass does not overheat.

• Tealights or short pillar candles
• Battery candles for a bedroom or a child's room
• White for a light, romantic look; black for a graphic contrast
• Pair two either side of a mirror or a mantelpiece

• On a windowsill The glass protects the flame from draughts by the window.
• On a mantelpiece Use a pair for a simple, symmetrical display.
• On a dining table A soft, sheltered light for a relaxed dinner.
• On a bedside table With a battery candle, a cosy glow without worry.

Clean the glass with warm soapy water once the wax has cooled, and dry it well. Wipe the iron with a dry cloth to keep the finish intact.

Keep the holder on a stable surface, away from curtains and anything flammable, and never leave a lit candle unattended.
