Which candles fit this small iron lantern?
This small black iron lantern measures 12 cm high and 7.1 cm wide. Its glass panels shelter a tealight from draughts, so the flame stays steady even near a door or a window.

Paint thin on one edge
Cute lantern. On one edge the black paint is a bit thin and you see a lighter line. From a distance it's not visible.

Five along the mantelpiece
I bought five and lined them up along the mantelpiece. With all the tealights lit it looks like a little street in an old town. Really cosy.

Charming but very small
It's charming, but it is really very small and one alone gives very little light. I think you need to buy several for the effect in the photos. The quality is okay for the price.

Remarkably pretty proportions
The proportions are remarkably pretty for such a small object, and the black iron frame gives a slightly old-fashioned elegance I really like.

Fiddly to change the tealight
Pretty lantern. Getting the tealight in and out is a bit fiddly because it's so small, I use a spoon. Otherwise good.

Christmas mantel
For Christmas I decorated our mantelpiece with fir branches, pine cones and six of these lanterns spread along it. In the evening when we light them the whole living room changes, the children call it the little village. The glass panels are clear and the frame looks like old wrought iron. I was a little afraid they would be too small, but in a row they make exactly the warm effect I wanted. They will stay out until February at least.

Our wedding tables
We had a small wedding in a barn in Burgundy and wanted something warm on the tables without real flames moving around everywhere. We ordered a big batch of these lanterns and placed three on each table, with some ivy around them. When the light went down in the evening it was magical, all the little black frames with the glow inside. Afterwards we gave them to the guests and kept a few at home, one is now on our bedside table as a souvenir. Shipping took a while so order early if you have a date.

Garden table in summer
Every summer evening on the garden table now. The panels protect the flame well from draughts, even when there is a breeze from the fields, which my old open tealight holders never did. Very good for the price.

Finish could be better
The look is pretty, but there were traces of glue on the edges of two glass panels that I had to clean off, and it is smaller than I thought. Nice as decoration, the finish could just be more careful.

Smaller than I pictured
Very cute, but smaller than I pictured, 12 cm is really small. Works well on the bookshelf, less on a big table alone.

Café table feeling at home
It reminds me of the little lanterns on café tables in Vienna. Now I have one on our kitchen table for breakfast in winter when it's still dark outside.

Balcony evenings
We use it on the balcony table in the evening. The glass keeps the tealight burning even with a bit of wind.

Nice, only one pane loose
Nice lantern, but one glass pane moved a little in its frame. It still sits fine, it just rattles if I shake it.

Glass gets sooty
Nice lantern. The glass gets a bit black on the inside after a few candles, so I clean it now and then. Normal I think.
