Taper candle holders and candlesticks

Taper candles are the tall, slim candles of a candlelit dinner. They need a candlestick with a cup that holds them firmly upright, usually about 2 to 2.5 cm wide. Our taper candle holders include a vintage iron-and-glass candlestick, a minimal ceramic candlestick with a drip dish, a Nordic metal stand in four finishes and a three-arm scroll candelabra.

How to choose

Check the cup size on the product page and match it to your candles. A heavy or wide base keeps a tall taper stable. For a dining table, a candelabra makes an instant centrepiece, while single candlesticks can be grouped in a row down the table.

Styling taper candles

Mix two or three heights of candlesticks and use candles of the same colour to keep the look calm. Keep flames below or above eye level so guests can see each other, and at least 10 cm apart. Trim the wick to about 5 mm before lighting to limit smoke and drips.
